Today I did an hour-long teleclass on how to study the publishing markets—both magazines and book publishers—for my friend Suzanne Lieurance for her Children’s Writers’ Coaching Club. (You can find a description of the class here.)
It was fun! I didn’t think I could talk for a whole hour, but I forget how long-winded I become once I get going. The hour was up before I knew it, and at the end I had to scramble to squeeze the last bits of information in.
Suzanne recorded the class and will soon be offering it on CD through the National Writing for Children Center.

Hey L.D.! Barb said she saw you last weekend and I just had to stop by and say hi. I haven't been to many conferences or events lately, personal stuff going on. Maybe next year!
I keep tabs on you through your blog, though. Promise to comment more often!

Hey, Jamie, I'm glad you popped by! This weekend was fun, and it was great to see Barb again. We were on a panel together Sunday morning.
I am reading your book by choice for a school project and i like it a lot
whats a tele class
I'm glad you like AIRBALL. Thanks for taking the time to comment on my blog.
A teleclass is a class by telephone. Everyone taking the class--or teaching the class, like me--calls a certain phone number at a certain time, and we all end up on the same phone call together, like a conference call. So then I was able to give all the information about studying publishers' catalogs, and the students could ask questions, like in a real class, except we were all on the phone.
